Chronic alcohol abuse cases in Spain 2011-2021

In 2021, the number of chronic alcohol abuse cases registered in Spain reached more than 364 thousand, the highest value reported during the period analyzed. Figures showed an uptrend in the number of alcohol abuse cases in the country since 2011, when Spanish primary health care services attended approximately 88.6 thousand patients. As of 2021, 237 people died from mental health disorders associated with alcohol abuse in Spain.
