GDP by economic activity in Tanzania 2022

Tertiary activities (services industry) constituted the largest share of Tanzania's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2022. The sector, which includes activities like retail, tourism, and banking, accounted for 40 percent of the country's GDP. Secondary activities, which concern industry and construction, followed closely with a 38 percent share, while primary activities, such as agriculture, fishing, and mining, had a share of around 22 percent of the Tanzanian GDP.
