Number of GP appointments made in the United Kingdom 2018-2020, by type
In the United Kingdom in October 2019, 24.3 million face to face general practice (GP) appointments were carried out, the highest number of appointments in the provided time interval. However, during the first wave of COVID-19 this number dropped to 7.5 million in April 2020, a drastic decrease compared to 19.2 million in February 2020. On the other hand, the number of GP appointments carried out via telephone increased drastically from 3.3 million in February 2020 to 7.7 million in April 2020.
