Nigeria has a labor force of over 80 million people. As of 2020, the Nigerian labor force population was mainly concentrated in rural areas of the country, which had almost double that of urban zones.
In the second quarter of 2020, the unemployment rate in Nigeria reached about 27 percent. Nigerian sources define as unemployed labor force those who did nothing or worked for less than 20 hours a week. Data on unemployment rate from other sources refer to much lower rates.
