Major sources of microplastic in river water in Saitama Japan 2021
In 2021, plastic food containers were the main source of microplastic in river waters of Saitama Prefecture, as around 77 plastic food containers were found on average per kilometer of river water. Most of the plastic waste that was found came from households, such as plastic food containers and plastic shopping bags.
