Sales of motor vehicles in Costa Rica registered a drop across all segments in 2020, impacted by mobility restrictions amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Sales of passenger commercial vehicles suffered the hardest hit, reaching around 500 units sold. That represented a year-over-year drop of more than 42 percent. Meanwhile, sales of light cargo vehicles amounted to over four thousand units that year, a decline of 22 percent in comparison to 2019.
