Track and roadways were the main sector for railway investments, making up close to 40 percent of the total investments in 2019. It was followed by rolling stock investments, at 22 percent, and buildings and related machinery and equipment, which made up 19 percent of the total. By contrast, little was invested in terminals and fuel stations as well as work equipment and roadway machines.
