Value of remittances received in Egypt 2014-2021
The total value of remittances received in Egypt surpassed 28 billion U.S. dollars in 2019/2020, a peak for the period in analysis. This also represented an increment in value of three billion U.S. dollars compared to the previous year. Moreover, by the third quarter of 2020/2021, 23 billion U.S. dollars sent by Egyptian migrants entered the country. A trough in the value of remittances received was registered in 2015/2016 at 17 billion U.S. dollars.
