Remittances of land-based overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) accounted for the highest share of the total remittances sent to the Philippines. In 2021, remittances of land-based OFWs reached approximately 23.5 billion U.S. dollars. In comparison, sea-based OFWs sent a total of 6.54 billion U.S. dollars in cash remittances.
