Investment allocation of Norges Bank Investment Management 1998-2021
The market value of investments of the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) increased considerably between 1998 and June 2021, when it peaked at roughly 1.37 trillion U.S. dollars. As of June 2021, NBIM had 982 billion U.S. dollars invested in equities, while the value of fixed-income investments stood at 340 billion U.S. dollars. The first time the sovereign wealth fund invested in real estate was in 2011, and the fund did not invest in renewable infrastructure until 2021. Before that, the fund's assets were only placed in fixed income and equity.
