According to reporting of the largest banks worldwide in terms of total assets, Agricultural Bank of China reported the highest total GHG emissions in 2022. All banks' highest CO2 emissions were from scope 2 - indirect GHG emissions (location-based). The Chinese bank's scope 2 emissions in 2022 was 1.9 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent.
