Market share of top German construction companies

In 2021, the revenue generated by the 29 leading construction companies included here only amounted to 10.3 percent of the overall industry in Germany. Strabag was the company with the largest market share at 1.19 percent of the overall national revenue in Germany, while Züblin and Zech Group had a market share of less than one percent. In 2021, Hochtief was the German construction company with the highest revenue. Nevertheless, Hochtief's share of the German market was only 0.25 percent as the company generated most of its revenue abroad.

Supplementary notes

These figures were calculated by Statista using the company revenue data from bauindustrie.de, which includes the percentage of that revenue which was generated outside Germany, and the revenue data for the whole German construction industry from Destatis.

Not all the largest construction companies in Germany were in this list, as there was no data regarding the share of the revenue generated abroad for some of them.

Although some of the companies included here may come from abroad, this statistic only presents data for their German-based subsidiaries.
