Australia: number of AFL match attendees by age group

In a survey conducted in Australia in 2020, responses showed that attendance to Australia Football League matches was dominated by people aged under 35 years old, with approximately 819 thousand attendees from this age group. The 65 and over age group reported the lowest attendance to AFL matches in 2020. Overall attendance of AFL matches in 2020 was impacted by COVID-19 related restrictions and lockdowns, including all matches played in the state of Victoria were played without spectators.
