According to a survey of women carried out in the United Kingdom in 2022, 44 percent of respondents had experienced not being taken seriously by a healthcare provider. Furthermore, around 40 percent of women felt that when accessing healthcare, there was a lack of understanding of women's lives and experiences, while over a third reported a lack of understanding of women's bodies was an issue for them when accessing healthcare.
