Value of gross domestic expenditure on R&D in Africa 2020-2022
In 2022, the gross domestic expenditure on research and development (GERD) in Africa amounted to 29 billion U.S. dollars. This was one million U.S. dollars higher compared to the previous year. The African continent spent the lowest amount on R&D globally.
