In 2019, learning opportunities in tertiary education in Morocco were equal for both male and female students. The Gender Parity Index (GPI) for gross tertiary enrollment has increased since 1998, meaning that women were closer to men in the learning opportunities. An exception was registered in 2016 when the GPI decreased 0.1 points compared to the preceding year preceding. Overall, 555,146 tertiary students out of more than 1.1 million were women as of 2019 in Morocco.
