The Mexican state with the largest number of reverse osmosis plants – including both plants with and without water softener – is Zacatecas, with a total of 127 plants as of December 2022. This was closely followed by Coahuila de Zaragoza, at some 120 plants. That year, Mexico had a total of 398 reverse osmosis treatment plants installed across the country.
