New Zealand: views on level of tourism in local communities by community 2023

In a survey conducted in 2023 among New Zealanders on their views of tourism, around 62 percent of participants based in Queenstown perceived the level of tourism in their local community as a bit much or too much. In comparison, in Auckland, respondents were overall satisfied with the level of tourism in their community, with around 57 percent of those surveyed based in Auckland indicating that the level of tourism in their community was just right.
