COSCO Shipping: volume of containers handled in the Port of Piraeus 2012-2022
In 2022, some 4.35 million TEUs of shipping containers were handled at the terminal operated by COSCO Shipping in the Port of Piraeus, Greece. This was a decrease of seven percent compared with the previous year. From 2012 to 2019, the volume of containers processed was mainly increasing; however, in the following years, the annual container throughput decreased due to the direct and indirect effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the global maritime shipping industry.

At present, COSCO Shipping Ports Limited holds a 20 percent stake in the Antwerp Terminal and an approximately 18 percent stake in the Euromax Terminal at the Port of Rotterdam.
