According to Section 163 Abs. 2 SGB IX, companies with at least 20 jobs must submit their notification of the number of employees with severe disabilities to the Employment Agency by March 31st each year. The spring 2023 report shows a total of 174,919 companies that were subject to the employment obligation for 2021 (previous year: 173,326 companies). As of the reporting date, they employed 1,135,018 people with disabilities (previous year: 1,139,503). The employment target is 1,208,842, resulting in a gap of 73,824 people (previous year: 52,383). The employment gap before the five percent target for the economy as a whole is reached has not narrowed.
