Europe: leading EV startups by funding 2023
As of 2023, Polestar was the European electric vehicle startup that had the largest funding, at some 550 million U.S. dollars. Polestar's large funding is partly due to its acquisition by Volvo Cars in 2015. The Swedish company was followed by TIER Mobility, a micro-mobility provider which held the largest share of Germany's shared e-scooter market in 2022.
