Distribution of workforce in the GCC 2022, by occupational category
In 2022, around 66 percent of foreign workers in the Gulf Cooperation Council worked in unskilled professions. This was in sharp contrast to the roughly six percent of local citizens in the GCC who had unskilled professions. The disparity between foreign and local workers was far less in skilled professions with roughly 12 and 16 percent, respectively.
