Automobile-related tax revenue in Japan FY 2023, by segment
In the fiscal year 2023, the estimated gasoline tax revenue collected by the government of Japan amounted to about two trillion Japanese yen. This was the tax that levied the highest sum among the various taxes imposed upon vehicle users in Japan, followed by the consumption tax on automobiles.
