European consumer perception of car brands' high performance, by country of origin
Most consumers in the five countries surveyed perceived European car brands as high performance vehicle marques as of July 2023. Around 53 percent of German respondents found European cars were high performance cars, the highest share among all surveyed countries. Furthermore, a large share of respondents also considered car brands from the United States as high performance. In contrast, Chinese car brands did not record the same success: 15 percent of Germans and 10 percent of Norwegian consumers would describe these brands as high performance.
