In 2022, Latin America and the Caribbean had a trade deficit in pharmaceutical products, with pharmaceutical imports surpassing exports by approximately 28 billion U.S. dollars. This deficit marked the second-largest trade gap in the region. The only year that exceeded this deficit was 2021, where imports exceeded exports by around 30 billion U.S. dollars, representing the largest deficit observed during the depicted period.
