Sea level rise projections in Mexico 2020-2099

Sea levels are projected to rise in Mexico across various Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSP). Under the SSP1-2.6 low emission scenario, it is projected that sea levels in Mexico will rise 13.08 centimeters (cm) during the next decades, and 25.57 cm by the mid-century, relative to historic baseline. Sea levels will continue rising to reach 51.03 cm by 2099, following the same scenario.

SSP2-4.5: intermediate GHG emissions - CO₂ emissions around current levels until 2050, then falling but not reaching net zero by 2100: SSP3-7.0: high GHG emissions - CO₂ emissions double by 2100.
