In 2023, approximately 8.12 children were born per 1,000 permanent residents in Guangdong province, China. The relaxation of the one-child policy and its final abolition in 2016 had a positive effect on the number of births in Guangdong. However, figures since 2020 indicate that the birth rate has fallen below previous levels.
