Motivation for being involved in social change in the U.S. 2012, by political affiliation This statistic shows American survey participants’ responses to a question of why different ways of contributing to social change are personally important as of 2012. The responses are differentiated by the political affiliation of participants. 46 percent of conservative respondents said that supporting social change was important because it made them feel good. By comparison 61 percent of moderates and liberals supported the same statement.
