Of those surveyed adults between 30 and 49 years old, 43 percent have gone online to diagnose a condition. Of these, 55 percent had a professional follow-up. The internet has become a diagnostic tool for about one-third of adults in the United States. Women and younger adults are more likely than men to use the internet for a possible diagnosis.
