Prices for liquefied natural gas (LNG) are highest in Asia, where the quarterly average for Q2 2019 was 4.93 U.S. dollars per million British thermal units. By comparison, Northwest Europe prices were 4.10 U.S. dollars that same quarter. In the past seven years, prices have notably declined and are expected to fall further in the coming years, with transportation of LNG becoming cheaper.
Chinese and Japanese consumers paid the most for the crude material. In June 2019, the estimated landed price was 4.43 U.S. dollars per million British thermal units.
