This statistic shows the number of routes taken by immigrants to enter the European Union (EU) illegally between border-crossing points (BCPs) in the time period from 2015 to 2018. In 2018, over 570 thousand illegal immigrants took the Western Mediterranean route to reach the EU, an increase of approximately 34 thousand more than on the previous year.
