Volume of biodiesel fuel consumed in transport in Italy 2005-2018

Since 2005, annual volume of biodiesel consumed in the Italian transport sector fluctuated. Between 2005 and 2018, figures increased by roughly one million tons of oil equivalent and peaked at 1.3 million tons of oil equivalent in 2010. However, biodiesel consumption dropped to 1,217 kilotons of oil equivalent in 2018. At that year, the European Union biodiesel consumption in the transport sector amounted to roughly 12.8 million tons of oil equivalent.
