This statistic shows the total portfolio investment liabilities from Luxembourg residents to the rest of the world from the first quarter of 2015 to the second quarter of 2019 (in million euros). In the second quarter of 2019, Luxembourg residents had approximately 5,279 billion euros worth in portfolio investment liabilities to non-residents. Luxembourg is an international financial center in the European Union, with over 140 international banks having an office in the country. In the Global Financial Centers Index, Luxembourg was ranked as having one of the most competitive financial centers in Europe.

The IIP is established on a quarterly basis (in particular to fulfil the needs of the European Central Bank)".
