Number of international arrivals in Romania 2022

The number of international arrivals in tourist accommodations in Romania peaked in 2018 at 2.79 million people. In 2020, because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the number of international tourist arrivals dropped by approximately 80 percent compared to the previous year, totaling only 453,265 foreign tourist arrivals. The statistics show that the Romanian tourism industry is recovering, having 1.58 million foreign tourists in 2022.
