Cumulative capacity of offshore wind energy in Europe 2019, by sea basin

Most offshore wind farms in Europe are to be found in the North Sea. As of 2019, turbines with a cumulative capacity of nearly 17 gigawatts were installed across the sea. This was more than the combined capacities installed in all other European sea basins and mainly due to the number of wind farms developed by the United Kingdom and Germany.
