This statistic shows the responses of academic library deans and directors in the United States on whether they think it will be necessary to maintain a collection of hard copy books in five years time, as asked from 2010 to 2016, by institution type. In 2016, 6 percent of respondents at Baccalaureate degree-granting institutions believed hard-copy book collections would become unnecessary within five years.
