In 2021, around 48.9 thousand new elevators were installed throughout South Korea. The total number of elevators installed in South Korea have steadily increased over the years, although the growth rate slowed in 2019. Many residential buildings in South Korea are high-rise apartments that require elevators. Going by the current rate of new installations, the total number of elevators in South Korea may reach 900 thousand by 2022.
