This statistic displays the newly installed and decommissioned power capacity in the European Union (EU-28) in 2018, by type. Wind power was the energy technology that had the highest capacity installations, with 10 gigawatts installed. However, 0.4 gigawatts of wind power was decommissioned. Although coal added 0.2 gigawatts of new capacity, 1.7 gigawatts was decommissioned.
