The quarterly net assets under management (AUM) of the UCITS industry in the Benelux region (Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands) generally increased, albeit with some fluctuation, from the first quarter of 2015 to the first quarter of 2021. UCITS and AIF are terms that cover investment funds as a financial asset. UCITS stands for Undertakings for Collective Investments in Transferable Securities and at its core stands for investment funds that are domiciled in Europe and regulated by the European Union. In the first quarter of 2021, Luxembourg, the biggest domicile when it comes to the European UCITS industry, had a net asset value of more than 4.4 trillion euros.
