Deaths caused by mental disorders due to drugs in Spain by gender 2006-2021
In 2021, the annual number of deaths resulting from mental disorders induced by the use of drugs amounted to 43 cases in Spain, up from the 34 casualties reported a year prior. Deaths caused by mental health disorders due to drugs affected more men than women throughout the analyzed period. As of 2021, 37 fatal cases, or around 86 percent of the deaths caused by mental health disorders linked to drug dependency, corresponded to men, while only six women died from these causes in the European country.
