According to Schofield Insurance, inspiration for the next getaway for millennials often comes from an awe-inspiring picture on social media. Many cited the “instagramability” of a location as a major reason for travelling to a certain city or landmark.

Which landmarks get the most attention on Instagram? According to analysis conducted by Winfields, the landmark with the most hashtags in 2018 is Central Park, coming in at close to 6 million hashtags. Central Park is trailed by the Eiffel Tower and Times Square for most hashtags of 2018. The top ten Instagram landmarks are concentrated in three major countries: The United States, the United Kingdom and France. The Burj Khalifa, the world’s largest man-made structure, is the only top ten Instagram landmark from the Middle East, with a little under 2.5 million tweets in 2018 so far.
