Industry revenue of »temporary employment agency activities« in Finland 2011-2023

Employment placement agencies in Finland have witnessed robust growth over the past decade, owing to the increasing staffing needs of organizations. The industry was valued at 24 million U.S. dollars in 2010 and grew over five-fold by 2019. Moreover, a fast changing employment landscape has led to many firms hiring temporary workers, which has also boosted the growth of temporary employment agency activities. According to Statistics Finland, the number of temporary workers in the country amounted to 345,000 in 2017, representing 16 percent of the overall workforce.

Reducing employment rate

With an increasing number of people taking part-time and freelancing jobs, the unemployment rate has been declining over the past few years. In 2017, over 75 percent were employed in the private sector, with majority of them being in industries including wholesale and retail trade and healthcare and social work activities.

New digital platform for hiring quick temporary labour

Treamer, a Finnish staffing startup has launched a new digital platform that allows organisations to hire temporary labour much faster than the usual recruiting processes. Brands such as Goodio, Warrior Coffee and Heinon Tukku are already making use of it and this is expected to further boost the temporary employment rate in the medium term.
