Industry revenue of »sale of cars and light motor vehicles« in Slovenia 2011-2023
The automotive industry is the mainstay of many economies in the European Union (EU) and Slovenia is no different, with the manufacture of motor vehicles expected to maintain a steady growth rate during 2017-2022. With a strong umbrella industry, various segments including cars and light motor vehicles are also expected to exhibit a growing trend, increasing from 4.8 billion U.S dollars in 2017 to as much as 6.2 billion U.S dollars in 2023.

Auto spare parts industry declining

Slovenian companies engaged in the manufacturing of automobile components and other spare parts have started to feel the impact of the slowing down of car sales across the EU. Even though most countries are expected to witness increasing sales, growth is expected to be more muted than in the past. Therefore, revenues from the manufacturing of other automobile parts in the country are expected to decline sharply during 2017-2023, falling from 726.4 million U.S dollars to just 144 million U.S dollars.

Slovenia has never been one of the major forces in automotive manufacturing with the total number of companies declining from 22 in 2013 to 20 in 2017.
