Industry revenue of accommodation and food service activities in Ireland 2011-2023
Food and beverage is the dominant sub-category
It isn’t long since Ireland’s food & beverage industry was widely regarded as a sunset sector with not much scope for growth. However, it has emerged as one of the hottest growth contributors to the economy with revenues poised to increase from 9.4 billion U.S. dollars in 2018 to over 10.5 billion in 2023. Limited service restaurants including QSR, fast casual and food-to-go is now the highest consumer spending category in the country. Strong exports, especially of dairy ingredients, beef and lamb, are yet another positive in the industry.
