Under the European Union (EU) Relocation Scheme in 2015, the EU member states were obliged to relocate refugees from Italy and Greece. As of April 2018, Germany transferred 10,825 out of 27,536 refugees it was required to relocate, while the Czech Republic only relocated 12 out of 2,691 persons. Non-EU countries Norway, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein also resettled refugees.
