Pupils in primary schools in Iceland with another mother tongue 2021, by language
Of the total 5,611 children in primary schools in Iceland with a foreign language as their mother tongue in 2021, most had Polish as their native language. Almost 2,000 pupils had Polish as their mother tongue. English native-speakers was the second largest group, with 421 pupils. On the other hand, Mongolian and Hebrew were the smallest groups, with only three and four pupils respectively. The total number of children in primary schools in Iceland in 2021 was 46,859.
