Population of Iceland 2009-2019, by citizenship

The population of Iceland grew steadily within the last ten years. Even so, the inhabitants with an Icelandic citizenship remained close to constant in recent years. In conclusion, the population growth was to a big extent due to immigration. To be specific, most of the immigrants who moved to Iceland in 2018 came from Poland, Lithuania, Romania and Latvia.
