Using 2015 prices as a baseline, the cost of housing in China has grown faster than any of the other major developed and emerging economies, with an index value of 145.51 in the third quarter of 2020 (where a value of 100 represents 2015 prices). This compares to housing costs in Brazil, which have only just recovered to 2015 values, reporting an an index value of 104.44 in the same quarter.
