India - opinion on optimism about current year 2019

According to a survey conducted by Ipsos on predictions for global issues in January 2019, 91 percent of Indian respondents were optimistic that the year would be better for them than 2018. Out of this, 57 percent of respondents were highly optimistic about the year.
Out of the 24 countries surveyed, India ranked third in terms of its positive outlook towards 2019, after Peru and Colombia.

The question asked in the survey was as follows: "Please indicate if you agree very much, agree somewhat, disagree somewhat or disagree very much with the following statements: I am optimistic that 2019 will be a better year for me than it was in 2018"

According to the source, respondents were more urban and educated, with higher incomes than their fellow citizens, referred to as "Upper Deck Consumer Citizens". They were not nationally representative of their country.
