Documented migration to the US 1820-1957 by continent and decade
Throughout the nineteenth and early twentieth century, the continent with the highest rate of migration to the United States was Europe, with the highest number of migrants coming in the first decade of the 1900s (7.6 million). Europe continued to have the highest rate of migration in the mid-1900s, although the difference between Europe and other continents (particularly the Americas) was much smaller than before.
